Additional Information / Rules

Submitted surgical videos should be no more than 2 minutes in length.
A board of VBS members will review and judge each surgical video based upon originality, degree of difficulty, surgeon’s skill level and quality of video.
Applicants must have been involved in the presented case as a retina fellow and be a retina fellow at the time of the 13th annual meeting (March 2025).
Fellows can only accept a single travel grant award. If fellows are selected as finalists for more than one travel grant, fellows must choose one of the activities to participate in and withdraw from the other.
Video Specifications:
  • .mp4 or .mov format with .h264 codec preferred
  • Resolutions up to 4K (3840 × 2160), however upscaling your video will not result in increased quality, only increased file size, so uploading videos in their original resolution is best
  • Max individual file size of 1GB, however depending on your internet connection, you may not be able to upload a video that large

NOTE: Submitted surgical videos should not have any program or personal identifiers, but they may include a voiceover, as long as it does not identify the program, fellow or attending physician involved in the video.
Please do not include your name, or any identifying information, in the file name.
